Response to Editorial #9

I absolutely hope that America can stop Hitler.  I bet America has a few tricks up their sleeves; they aren’t as stupid as you think.  Sure they should have expected the attack from Japan but that was one time.  Even people at the top of the class sometimes fail a test.  I think it will truly be a David and Goliath moment.  The underdog will overcome the victor.

A new member had joined us in hiding.  His name is Mr. Dussel.  When he saw me and my family shock entered his face.  He thought we had escaped to Switzerland!  The note we planted worked!  As he brought good news, he also brought bad news: countless friends have been taken off to a dreadful fate.  No one is spared.  Not even the sick and elderly!  He ended up sharing a room with me, while Margot went into Mom and Dad’s room.  At first I didn’t like sharing my stuff with a stranger but we all have to make sacrifices.
