August 26th, 1939

It seems funny to me that only a year has passed since my retirement from the military, and yet the country that we so courageously defeated in WWI has already taken over Czechoslovakia. It looks like Germany isn't looking for a peaceful treaty post WWI after all. Well, what did you expect? Giving Germany a hateful reputation is a one way ticket for a rising leader to bring extreme nationalistic beliefs to bear. Now, lets not forget that nationalism was one of the key factors that brought about WWI. There's no question war is coming, and believe me when I say this. I know a little about war and the military, having been the top of my class at West Point and given my experience leading the 42nd division infantry (Rainbow Division)in WWI (huaah!). Many people may not be ready for another war, but if war is necessary, then it is crucial that we defend our loving nation.
