Response to Editorial #13
My island hopping plan is coming to an epic conclusion. Only one more island remains to be taken in order to defeat all of Japan's islands. Okinawa will be the hardest and deadliest battle so far, but it will result in America's victory over Japan. Still, people choose to deny that my plan will result in success. Why would we give up now when we have come so far? Do these critics not trust America to finish the job? Even after my successes in Japan's other islands, how can some still believe this to be a dumb idea. If we take this island, Japan will own no Pacific bases outside of their own country. So as a final question, do we want Japan to be defeated? Don't we as a country feel the need for vengeance after Japan's multiple attacks on the Allies? We are so close to ending this war...we can not soften our attacks now. Once we take Okinawa, we will have the Japanese by their throats.
